Tim Chapin - Event Coordinator
Timothy Chapin began his work with non-profit organizations in 1990 when he successfully helped organize auctions and other fund-raisers for his high school choir. Tim enjoys working with non-profit organizations and he is formerly the Development Assistant for a large performing arts group. This position allowed him to see, in much greater detail, the way non-profit organizations are run, and gives him empathy for those groups that try to put on their first benefit event with little knowledge or guidance. Tim's knowledge of the auction process grew along with this partnership with Northwest Benefit Auctions and Jay Fiske. He became familiar with all duties and functions of benefit auctions from the very first planning meeting to the audit after the event. His extensive knowledge of the auction process has helped hundreds of organizations raise millions of dollars. In addition to his field work with non-profit organizations, he also conducts a training course on the use of the popular Maestrosoft "AuctionMaestro Pro" software, used to conduct thousands of auctions across the nation every year. This course is attended by auction chairs, event planners, and development directors across the country. Tim currently assists in producing and organizing about 30 auctions per year ranging from guild and museum auctions that raise over $5 million down to public school auctions raising between $15,000 and $20,000. "There is nothing more rewarding than looking at the joy in the faces of an auction committee after their event just raised $50,000 more than their target goal," says Tim. The diversity and contrast between the many different organizations and the way they approach the auction process is always intriguing to Tim, and he continually acquires new ideas to help groups increase their success.
